Peter Redgwell started his career in the stud cattle industry in 1995 after gaining employment with the forward thinking Princess Park Estates - a multi breed stud who had breeding operations in Red Angus, Black Angus, Hereford, Poll Hereford & Charolais, a heavy emphasis on embryo transfer & artificial insemination with around 2000 recipient cows, over 3 main properties in Tamworth, Coolah & Boggabri and additional agistment properties - the stud sadly dispersed in 2001, however the Red Angus breed had left a massive impression on Peter.

 

Heartland Red Angus commenced in 2001 with the purchase of Buffalo Creek Barney Son, Princess Park Red Baron V520. After meeting his wife Trina in 2002 who also had a mutual interest in stud cattle saw the transition from a commercial herd to stud stock cattle in 2006 with foundation female purchases from the Red Angus National Show & Sale and privately off farm.

 

Peter & Trina now have two sons, Angus (17) and Harrison (14), together, they have focused on breeding quality Red Angus Seedstock, maintaining traits of fertility, moderate frame, functional & adaptable cattle.

 

Our program is heavily focused on expanding the genetic diversity of the Red Angus breed via in house Artificial Breeding.  Our latest chapter 2025 saw the purchase of Angus Australia foundation female Myers Lady Annie V4 with intentions of diversifying to offer both Red and Black Angus Cattle to suit the Northern & Southern requirements of producers.

 

Bulls, females & genetics are available on farm or via select sales each year.
